Our story

My name is Katie… obviously. And my little home bakery was born of love, ingenuity, and a lot of enthusiastic support. After countless years of baking for friends and family, slowly working my way up to hundreds of cookies for big gatherings, wedding cakes and anything else you can imagine, I finally took the plunge. But not without a lot of nudging from… well… everyone.

Cliche as it may be, I am a single mom of a 6-year-old boy, with two clinically insane dogs, and a house and yard to keep up with, just trying to hold all the horses’ tails. I’ve had a penchant for baking for the last decade or so, with increasing numbers of people asking me to bake for them, or to teach them how. Fast forward to my son entering grade school and the requests for friends’ birthday cakes and even wedding cakes took over! Not to mention the endless sugar cookies and other sweets for various types of occasions. Countless loved ones have pushed over the years for me to take the leap, but I think the final shove was when my son finally said, “Mommy… you make the best cakes. You should have a bakery!” You know what bud? I think you’re right.

What makes my baked goods special? Well, there are a couple things worth mentioning. First off, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. That might not seem like a very helpful trait for this profession, but the result is a complex flavor combination that will be more than just sugar, regardless of what you choose to order. Delicately balanced, each confection is subtle, intricate, and deliciously satisfying. Secondly, I love a challenge. Tell me your dreams… I take pride in crafting the perfect combinations of flavor and aesthetics, to get exactly what my clients are craving. I can’t wait to share this journey with you!
